EVCR 2019 - when goodness defines a race
Capping its fourth year, the 2019 Everyone Can Run event brought 1,050 abled and disabled participants together to raise RM50,000. There were families together as teams, with some running with their toddler in stroller. What was equally heart warming was to see volunteers partnering with the blind, the deaf, and the learning disabled in the respective 2, 5 and 10km run. There were also participants in wheel chairs too.
The success of the run was due to funding and support from corporations, individuals and the authorities before, during and after the run. Corporations include 1Utama Shopping Centre, Navis Capital, BOH Plantation, AmBank, Southern Rock Seafood, Race X Asia, Silver Link Parameter, Suntory, Toi Toi and MOMA Water. To the delight of the participants, the ever popular Milo & Nestum trucks were there supplying the nourishing drink.
During the run, the police, route marshals, scouts and volunteers were in full force to ensure it was smooth and safe.
Primary Industries Minister Teresa Kok who was at the closing ceremony, donated a total of RM13,000 to support the works of Dignity & Services for adults with learning disabilities.

EVCR 2018 - a show of love and hope
2018 Everyone Can Run event brought the young and old together at Central Park in Bandar Utama on Sept 30th 2018 for the respective 5km and 10km run.
As the sun pierced the darkness, over 800 participants were flagged off in a run that combined fun and a worthy cause together for the learning disabled.
The youngest participant was probably 3 years old. With her fairy wings and pink costume, she charmed everyone during the 5km run and walked away as one of the winners for Best Dressed competition.
Then there were three buddies in wheelchairs who participated in the 5km OKU run who won the race. These are seasoned competitors but it was their first time participating in the event organised by Dignity & Services that supports adults with learning disabilities.
It was truly heartwarming to see families participating together as well.
If there is a word to sum up the run is SOLIDARITY. Every one who sponsored, every one who volunteered and every one who participated in the run, with some partnering with buddies with learning disabilities, it was a show of love and hope.

EVCR2017 - a great way to bring people together
